 Abdul Malik, a maths teacher from Padinjattumuri, Kerala, has swum daily across the Kadalundi River for over 20 years to reach his school, avoiding a 12-km road journey. Carrying his clothes and books in a plastic bag, he has never missed a day of teaching. Malik's dedication inspires students and communities alike, while he also leads efforts to clean the polluted river.

Since 1994, Malik uses a tyre tube to float across the river, braving currents and monsoon debris. His unique commute saves time and ensures punctuality, reflecting his commitment to rural children's education.
