DNA Shock: Kampala University Founder Professor Kateregga Learns He’s Not the Father of Youngest Child

Professor Badru Kateregga, founder and current Vice Chancellor of Kampala University, is reportedly heartbroken after a DNA test revealed he is not the biological father of the youngest of the three children he shares with his wife, Shubaiha Jolly Kateregga. The 76-year-old Ugandan educationist had been married to Shubaiha, 36, for 15 years. Their relationship began to fall apart in September 2024 when Kateregga left their home, citing personal reasons and alleging he had been assaulted by Shubaiha.

In response, Shubaiha approached the court, requesting child support and educational assistance for their children. However, Kateregga questioned the paternity of the children and requested DNA testing. Following a court order, the test results confirmed he is the biological father of two children, but not the youngest.

Shubaiha rejected the findings, claiming the results were unreliable and possibly manipulated. She has called for a new DNA test to be conducted at an internationally accredited laboratory in the U.S., expressing doubt over the credibility of the initial process. Sources close to the professor say he is deeply distressed, especially after raising all three children with love and care.
