UAE Invests $25 Billion into the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Line Megaproject.
The Nigeria-Morocco Gas Line Megaproject is fully is set to begin as all paperworks is being perfected.
Here are few things to know about this project:
*Project Name: African-Atlantic Gas Pipeline;
*Year of Conceptualisation: 2016;
*Project Cost: $25,000,000,000;
*Financiers: Islamic Development Bank, OPEC, European Investment Bank, and United Arab Emirates;
*Connect Networks: Nigeria, Southern City of Dahkla in Morocco and Northward Europe;
*Countries of travel: 15 African countries including Nigeria and Morocco;
*Project Milestones:
-Phase 1 (this will link Morocco to gas fields near Senegal and Mauritania, and connect Ghana to the Ivory Coast),
-Phase 2 (this will link Nigeria to Ghana),
-Phase 3 ( this will connect the Ivory Coast to Senegal);
*Pipeline Distance : 6,800 km long, including 5,100 km offshore (this pipeline will become the longest offshore gas pipeline in the world once completed);
*Piping Supplies: China’s Jingye Steel Group has been confirmed as the supplier of all pipes for the project;
*Economical Benefits: boost trades, access to electricity, and development in the region.
📍Note: This project should not be confused with the Nigeria-Algeria Gasline Project, otherwise known as the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (the Nigeria-Algeria Gas Pipeline is cost at $10,000,000,000).
