South Africa is indeed the largest agricultural exporter on the African continent. In 2024, South Africa's agricultural exports reached a record $13.7 billion. This was a 3% increase from the previous year.

South Africa's agricultural sector is robust and diverse, with strong fruit harvests, a recovering livestock market, and sizeable grain surpluses contributing to the export growth. Key export products include citrus, grapes, maize, apples, and pears. The agricultural sector plays a crucial role in South Africa's economy, contributing significantly to food security and a substantial portion of the country's exports.
