Saudi Arabia and Qatar have settled all of Syria's debt. Both countries have agreed to fully repay Syria's debt to the World Bank, amounting to more than $15.5 million. 


It should also be noted that the US has lifted sanctions, and international aid will resume shortly.


“We are pleased that the clearance of Syria’s arrears will allow the World Bank Group to reengage with the country and address the development needs of the Syrian people,” the World Bank said in a statement.


In addition to that “the first project in our re-engagement with Syria is centred on access to electricity.” #african
