Nigerian Army Warns About Boko

Haram's Use of Armed Drones in the North East

The Nigerian Army has raised concerns about Boko Haram terrorists using armed drones in the North East.

According to the Army, these drones are hard to detect with normal radar equipment.

Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the commander of Operation Hadin Kai, spoke about this on Tuesday during a press briefing in Maiduguri, Borno State.

He said some of the drones used by the terrorists are similar to those used in countries like Israel and Ukraine.

General Abubakar urged the remaining insurgents to surrender, just like many others who have already laid down their weapons and are now being treated well by the military.

He warned that anyone who refuses to surrender will be elim!nated.

"The terrorists have changed their strategy. They now launch multiple attacks on small and weak military bases, then use those attacks to spread propaganda.

Because of this, we're changing how we deploy our troops," he explained.

Despite these new challenges, he said Nigerian soldiers are still strong and motivated. He credited this to better welfare and support from the military leadership.

"This shows that the government is serious about ending this crisis. We believe that with time, we will fully defeat terrorism," he said.

General Abubakar also mentioned that things have improved in the region. He said that compared to five or ten years ago, Boko Haram's activities have reduced, and life is starting to return to normal in many parts of the North East.
