Corruption: Nigeria's Civil Society Calls for probe of the retired NNPC Vice President
Anti-corruption civil right group best known as
Coalition of Cvil Society Organization in North Central Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria insisted that Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye who worked with indicted and retired Nigeria National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) Mr Mele kyari as executive Vice President in upstream NNPCL for years, throughout his service should be included in the indicted list of the Nigeria's anti-corruption angency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a press release dated Wednesday, 14th May 2025, issued from Ayingba, Kogi State. The organization calls for the investigation of Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye, former EVP Upstream NNPCL, who served from July 2020 to October 2023, and urges the EFCC to include him in their probe of alleged misappropriation of funds and abuse of office involving NNPCL officials. The organization highlighted that Mele Kyari, GCEO from 2019 to 2025, is on the list and urges inclusion of Tombomieye due to their close working relationship.
The organization tendered a call for peaceful protests across North Central states and the FCT.
